My client, Active Outdoor & Ski Banbury, wanted a website that was easy to administer and that provided multiple choices of product display and presentation. A "selling" website.
First UK Design has produced a website that integrates with the Cybertill system and looks for new updates morning, afternoon and at night. All new products, descriptions, images and prices are automatically added to the website and in the correct category and brand.
The website is seasonal and automatically changes the top image at preset dates. You can select the dates to switch on and then switch off. All categories can be easily selected by ticking a box to include in the Home Page. Brands can be featured at the click of a button. New products can be selected, again by just ticking a box, to include in a scrolling display. If a visitor clicks an image, they go directly to the product and can buy online. Products can be grouped together to provide a complete package, so camping could include a tent, sleeping bag, footware etc. You choose the products and price!
In addition, the website provides a local community resource for schools, guides, scouts, clubs, Duke of Edinburgh's Award etc. Active Outdoor and Ski provides help and advice together with quality products.
AJAX - ASYNCHRONOUS JAVASCRIPT AND XML PROGRAMMING (DYNAMIC SHOPPING CART)
The "icing on the cake" is our dynamic e-commerce. The AJAX shopping cart is live and active in a window and displayed on all of the product pages. When a product is ordered, the shopping cart is immediately updated without having to refresh the browser screen or go to a "view shopping cart" window with a "continue shopping" or "checkout" button. It has been proven that a visitor is more likely to check out and leave your website.
AJAX keeps the visitor on the product pages, and helps your website get more than one product order!
